Laurie Hollinger has purchased several Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamps and highly recommends that everyone has one on hand for emergency situations: This head gear is awesome. Everyone should have one in their car, emergency kit, and house. I bought 5! Very light weight. Can see down my entire country road at deep dark of night, hands-free. Awesome product! Outdoor Pro Gear’s Latest Product Proves That Inexpensive Headlamps Can Offer Superior Lighting

Customers  Are Praising The Cost Of The LHB-1000 And Buying Several At A Time

Most people go by the saying “you get what you pay for”. In many cases this is a fair assessment. When it comes to technology and gadgets, high cost products have a reputation for being better quality and more durable. However, this isn’t always the case as owners of the Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp have discovered. Recently introduced on Amazon.com by Outdoor Pro Gear, this headlight is cheap compared to the big name brands. Yet, based on recent customer reviews the quality is considered outstanding and far better than more expensive headlamps.

“Unbelievably bright and the light is very even, unlike normal flashlights that have a single bright spot in the middle and rings or streaks."
“Shines very bright and the light beam is very smooth”

Amazon shopper Stephen Altemus is very impressed with the Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp:  Shines very bright and the light beam is very smooth not like some flashlights that show rings in rings in more rings. I bought this and another brand that was way more expensive and in the end I wish I would have bought 2 of these. This product is very well made and very bright.”

Founder and CEO of Outdoor Pro Gear, Marci Murray isn’t surprised by Mr. Altermus’ feedback: “We spent a lot of time doing market research before finalizing the design of the Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp. There are a lot of shortcomings in other designs that we wanted to eliminate, and I think we have successfully achieved this without having to charge a small fortune for our product. As avid outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we wanted a product that delivered all the features desired in a quality headlamp, so we’re certainly happy that our customers can recognize this and benefit from the low cost.”

Pros #1 ChoiceThe Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp is breaking new ground in lighting. A fully adjustable, durable, and affordable headlamp, outdoor enthusiasts are making the most of this product. However, its appeal doesn’t end there. With the Lighthouse Beacon 1000, things are looking brighter not only for outdoorsman but also for people who work in industries like plumbing, electrical, pest control, contracting and many “fix-it” related jobs where the headlamp is proving itself useful.

I have been using head lamps for over 5 years and this is the only one I have liked,” says Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp user David Laverdiere.  “It works perfectly! It is obviously constructed so well and the light is so bright (on the high setting) that I began using it to inspect and work in the chimney industry. I would not dare use any of my previous headlamps for that job. So far it has proven to be very durable and I’m still on my first set on batteries! I’m going to buy one for each of my employees.”

Pros #1 Choice AThis sturdy, lightweight headlamp is made from aluminum alloy and ABS for lasting durability. With a push of a button the headlamp can be switched between high, low, and strobe mode and with an adjustable beam it is possible to focus in on a narrow point or expand for wide vision. The headlamp incorporates a Cree XM-L T6 LED bulb with a 100,000 hour lifespan and the three AA batteries required to operate the lamp will run for approximately 33 hours continuously before needing replacing; this is very economical compared with other lesser quality headlamps.

The Next Generation In Top-Of-The-Line Headlamps Is Now Available

From Carbide to Cree. Headlamps Have Come a  Long Way.

Old Miner HeadlampHeadlamps have been around for decades, however initial designs were very crude, unreliable and often incredibly dangerous. Over the years, new designs have been developed to provide more reliable and powerful lighting options. Now company’s like Outdoor Pro Gear are delivering the next generation of sophisticated and refined designs revolutionizing headlamps and giving consumers more versatility than ever before.

In the late 1800’s carbide lamps were the dominate form of headlamps. These lamps ran on acetylene gas and had the potential to explode. Largely redundant now, carbide lamps are still occasionally used by cavers. Today modern headlamps run on batteries. The earliest versions were literally flashlights that could be worn on the head so that people could work hands-free. This is most certainly a big step up from carbides and hand-held devices that had to be propped up and aimed correctly for “hands-free” use. However, new advances in technology have brought about far more sophisticated designs.

Headlamps have really come a long way since their inception and now the next generation in headlamps has arrived,” says Outdoor Pro Gear founder, cranberry farmer and outdoorswoman Marci Murray. “Your typical hardware store headlamp is 25-100 lumens. That might be fine if you’re working on something 2 feet away. But for your average outdoorsman, hunters, fishermen, campers, backpackers and hikers, 100 lumens just isn’t going to cut it. We want more. We want intense light. We need to be able to see well and see far. Our headlamp, the Lighthouse Beacon 1000 (LHB-1000) is 1000 lumens. It’s not your average hardware store headlamp. This is a whole different animal. It is truly the next generation in headlamps.”

The Outdoor Pro Gear Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp is a cut-above-the-rest. Not only does it deliver exceptional lighting, it’s also versatile. Featuring an adjustable telescopic zoom allowing for wide and narrow beams, users also have the option of high, low, and strobe lighting. Run on three AA batteries, this headlamp is exceptionally efficient and will provide light for around 33 hours. The quality Cree XM-L T6 LED bulb has an incredible 100, 000 hour lifespan, that’s approximately 11 years of continuously lighting!

While it may be expected to pay a small fortune for a Lighthouse Beacon 1000 LED headlamp due to the superior design, it’s actually very affordable. Currently this product is on sale for $19.99 with free shipping when you buy 2 or more on Amazon.com. Outdoor Pro Gear also provides a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. People serious about lighting may wish to check this headlamp out, although it should be pointed out that at this low price supplies will run low quickly.

THAT’S Lighthouse Beacon Bright!

We had a little fun this evening going out and doing some photo testing with our LHB-1000 headlamp. People are always sending me their pictures and I thought maybe we’d try our own. I wasn’t disappointed. This really shows what we mean when we talk about the LHB’s convex lens focusing technology. It really gives a nice even distribution of light rather than a small bright beam in the middle with ambient light surrounding it. It’s hard to beat the power of 1000 lumen with a convex lens!

Disposable vs. rechargeable batteries: Which saves you more money?

BatteriesBatteries are an essential part of any headlamp.  Actually… the battery you chose is more important than you might think.

When we tested the LHB-1000 headlamp, the various batteries we used made a HUGE difference in the how long the headlamp ran and made some difference in how bright it was.

The bottom line was this: Choose the best battery you can buy. Disposable or rechargeable… buy the best. It most definitely makes a difference.

One consideration when buying batteries is whether you should buy disposable or rechargeable.  Do rechargeable batteries save you money in the long run? Kim Komando (The Digital Goddess) posted a wonderful article today addressing that exact question. It is well worth the read and should answer the question for you.
